Improved containers
The stability and functionality of Containers has been improved, including enhancements such as Auto-Fit and the ability to apply master pages for Container-based pagination.
Better JSON support
This update also introduces a new content type, JSON, for tabular type fields, which automatically transforms the content into a tabular field. In addition, JSONPath is now supported for working with JSON data. New processing commands have also been added to support easier processing of JSON data via the Enterprise data provider.
Improvements in the QR Code type fields
A new option has been added to the Barcode > QRCode field, allowing you to include a hyperlink within the QR code’s frame.
Improvements in HTML processing
Added support for barcodes in HTML tags, which also allow image rotation. The forced line break tag, <br>, can now be converted to a line break or paragraph break.
Direct integration with ImageLink
EasyCatalog now offers integration with ImageLink for better HTTP image support. In this way, it is possible to manage the download and storage of images received through a URI.
ImageLink is an add-on module that allows you to link images and other graphic resources directly from a DAM or an external provider. If the original file is modified at the source (on the DAM, PIM or Web server), the link can be automatically updated so that the InDesign document includes the most recent version of the file.
Improved Scripting Capabilities
Various enhancements have been made to scriptability, including direct access to a default createcontent.lua script via the data source information dialog.
Frame filtering
Filters can now be applied to entire frames, using the new “Filter..."option in the Pagination Rules panel. In this way, any field or content within the frame will be filtered before pagination. Frames without matching records will be automatically deleted during paging.
Enhanced InDesign Server Support
The update includes a scriptable mechanism for monitoring a watch folder to process incoming jobs. Further information can be found here.
Field Appearance Enhancements
Field options now allow you to define a different appearance for column headings and cell content. Additional defaults have been added.
Enhanced field duplication
When duplicating a regular field, a new custom field will be created with a default command to copy the contents of the original field.
Applying color to a formatting rule
The possibility of adding a color to a formatting rule simplifies its organization and improves its usability.
