Behind her always polite and perfectionist attitude, Alba Figuerola has quickly integrated into the Nousmedis team, proving that initial shyness is no barrier to excelling in digital marketing. A final-year student pursuing a Degree in Marketing and Digital Communities at TecnoCampus University (UPF), Alba Figuerola joined the company a few months ago as a Marketing Assistant. Since then, she has impressed us with her analytical mindset, attention to detail, and contagious energy.
In today’s post, we get to know her better. We will learn what drives her, how she organizes her daily tasks, and what her workplace superpower is. If her colleagues had to describe her in just a few words, they would surely highlight her professionalism, boundless curiosity, and ability to process vast amounts of information while keeping a smile on her face. Ready to discover more about Alba Figuerola? 😊
Do you have a morning routine or habit that gets you ready for the workday?
Absolutely! I wake up, do some stretches (basically, I try not to look like a zombie), air out my room, and prepare my sacred coffee. The moment I have that cup in my hand, I feel ready to conquer the world… or at least tackle the day’s marketing challenges.
What is Alba Figuerola’s role at Nousmedis?
I’m a Marketing Assistant, which means I spend my days analyzing data, researching the competition (but with love, of course! 😉), evaluating our campaigns and content strategies, and ensuring every action brings us closer to gaining better leads. Occasionally, I even dabble in journalism and conduct interviews. There’s always something exciting going on!
What are the three professional skills or qualities most valued at Nousmedis?
I’d say the three key pillars are: team spirit, because we always support each other; collaboration, because no one is an island (not even the programmers!); and strong communication, because even the best ideas mean nothing if they aren’t well-explained.
What is your secret superpower at work?
The ability to process an enormous amount of information without crashing! I always have multiple things on my mind: campaign data, tag manager updates, Google Ads strategies… But the best part is that I manage to structure everything in a way that makes sense.
What is one of the projects you’ve enjoyed the most at Nousmedis, and why?
I’m working on a competitive analysis report that has already grown past 60 pages and keeps expanding like Frankenstein’s monster! It’s intense, but I love it because it gives us valuable insights into the market and helps us make smarter strategic decisions.
Do you think printed publications are becoming obsolete?
Not at all! While digital is incredibly convenient (we have our phones glued to our hands 24/7), there’s something special about physical print. Books still exist despite e-books, and the same goes for magazines and catalogs. People enjoy touching, flipping through, and experiencing paper. So, no: print isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
What do you think the future holds for catalog automation?
It’s a fascinating field that many people still don’t know much about. I believe that once more designers, product managers, and CEOs discover the power of automation, they’ll fully embrace it. Technology is evolving at lightning speed, so I’m excited to see even smarter and faster ways to manage data in the near future!
Can you share a recent personal or professional achievement you’re particularly proud of?
Professionally, I love knowing that I bring value to the team and that my colleagues can rely on me. Personally, I’m getting great grades and I’m about to graduate. This is definitely my year!
Tell us a fun anecdote or a favorite moment at Nousmedis.
On my birthday, my colleagues surprised me with a homemade cake 🎂. I had only been with the company for a little over a month, so I wasn’t expecting it at all. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made me feel like part of the team right away. Plus, the cake was delicious, which is always a bonus!
If you could swap roles with anyone on the team for a day, who would it be and why?
If role-swapping came with an instant knowledge download, I’d love to be a programmer for a day. I’m fascinated by how my colleagues work magic with InDesign, EasyCatalog, and other tools, even though right now it looks like a foreign language to me. But if I don’t get the skills transfer… I’d better stick to marketing, where I know what I’m doing!
When you’re not working, where can we find Alba Figuerola?
At home with a cup of tea, studying, reading, or editing photos—a new hobby that has me hooked. But if the weather is nice, I also love going for a walk to clear my mind.
Recommend a book, podcast, series, or movie you’ve been obsessed with lately.
There are so many, but if I had to choose one, I’d go with Scythe by Neal Shusterman. It’s a futuristic story where an AI governs the world (let’s hope that doesn’t happen to us! 😅) and helps humanity conquer death. But this creates an overpopulation crisis, which is where the Scythes come in. They are tasked with “solving” the problem in a rather drastic way. It’s a brilliant mix of philosophy, ethics, and action. Highly recommended!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received, and who gave it to you?
A teacher once told me: “Alba, you can’t have a conversation if the other person isn’t willing to listen.” At the time, it was a tough reality check, but now I truly appreciate it. No matter how strong your arguments are, you can’t force someone to understand you. Sometimes, it’s best to let things flow and let people learn at their own pace.
If in addition to Alba you want to meet the other members of the team, don’t miss the rest of the interviews in our Blog!
