The automation of formative course sheets at CESUR has brought about a radical change in the way its extensive educational offering is managed. With over 25 years of experience in vocational training, CESUR is a national benchmark in the delivery of intermediate and advanced vocational programs. With more than 30 centers across Spain and an educational offering that includes over 100 official qualifications, CESUR stands out for its commitment to innovation, teaching quality, and the employability of its students.
Its formative model includes in-person, dual, and distance learning modalities, allowing each student to tailor their academic experience to their personal and professional needs. However, this flexibility, combined with the large volume of programs and centers, posed an increasingly complex logistical and operational challenge.
The challenge: extreme variability and the need for the automation of formative course sheets
Each vocational program at CESUR requires a detailed descriptive sheet that informs students about the program content, career opportunities, admission requirements, available learning modalities, the campuses where it is offered, and other key aspects.
The problem is that this information varies significantly depending on three main factors:
- The specific program
- The teaching method (in-person, dual or distance)
- The educational center where it is offered
This vast number of combinations in the creation of course sheets was managed entirely manually, through a tedious and repetitive production process. Each variation had to be individually composed and formatted, which required a significant time investment and carried a high risk of errors or inconsistencies.
Moreover, with the constant updating and expansion of the educational offering, keeping all the course sheets up to date had become a bottleneck for the CESUR team, directly impacting publication timelines and the overall efficiency of the responsible department.
The solution: smart automation of CESUR formative course sheets
CESUR entrusted Nousmedis to transform this process through an advanced automation solution, based on modular templates that dynamically adapt to the content of each course sheet.
The key to success lay in designing an intelligent system capable of automatically generating descriptive course sheets for every combination of program, delivery mode, and center. To achieve this, a single template was structured to allow the activation or deactivation of information blocks based on the data associated with each case. This way, without the need for multiple versions or manual formatting, personalized formative course sheets are produced quickly and accurately.
This approach made it possible to standardize the structure and visual style of all course sheets, while also facilitating future updates or content changes without compromising consistency across documents.
Implementation: direct database connection and data cleansing
One of the major successes of the project was the direct integration of the system with CESUR’s database. This enabled the automation of the information flow from the original source, ensuring that the data was always up to date and eliminating the need for manual uploads.
This process also involved significant work in data cleansing and normalization. Given the complexity of the environment with so many elements at play (qualifications, campuses, schedules, delivery modes…) it was necessary to invest efforts in standardizing the information to ensure it was displayed correctly in the generated documents, free of ambiguities or duplications.
Results: faster turnaround, fewer errors, and maximum reliability
The new system has enabled CESUR to automate the generation of formative course sheets with a level of efficiency that was impossible to achieve under the previous model. Thousands of possible combinations are now processed in a matter of seconds, with a consistent and professional visual presentation.
Although a few very specific situations still require manual adjustments, the solution successfully covers the vast majority of cases. The CESUR team has seen a drastic reduction in the time spent on repetitive tasks, freeing up resources to focus on higher-value activities such as continuous content improvement or student support.
Impact: a scalable and sustainable model for CESUR’s educational future
Thanks to its collaboration with Nousmedis, CESUR has transformed a critical process into a scalable, reliable system aligned with its growth strategy.
